Estill Level 1 & 2 Course
Voice craft for singers, speakers, teachers and speech & language therapists
Estill Voice Training's Level 1 and 2 Course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice - singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, speech-language pathologists and other vocal health professionals. This course offers a clear understanding of the voice’s limitless possibilities, along with how to keep it vibrant and healthy.
Your journey to vocal empowerment starts with the self-directed online course Foundations of Estill Voice Training® and continues live online over four days with Figures for Voice™ and Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™ taught by accomplished Speech-Language Pathologist and founding partner of Estill Voice International Mary McDonald Klimek EMCI ATP-SD and opera singer and voice teacher Stefan Holmström EMT and EMCI-C.
Foundations of Estill Voice Training® introduces you to Estill Voice Training's unique and powerful system for training the voice. Content includes videos, short readings, anatomical diagrams, exploratory vocal exercises with Estill Voiceprint Plus™ and journal reflections.
Level 1: Figures for Voice™ teaches you the craft of speaking and singing and employs exercises that will give you new vocal options for all styles and genres of singing and speaking. Level 2: Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™ combines figure options from Level 1 to produce six voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera and Belt.
During the 4-day live component you will explore each Estill Figure (vocal structure) and Estill Voice Quality (recipe).

Masterclass/open coaching sessions
Open coaching is an opportunity for you to apply the craft that we will learn to a song or speech of your choice. The aim is to solve a vocal problem and/or broaden your artistic choices with expert feedback.
Eight open coaching sessions will be offered as part of this Estill Level 1 & 2 Course. Slots are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to take part.
We will follow-up a few weeks before the course to confirm your slot, ask you what you will be performing and to request you to provide sheet music (if necessary).
How open coaching works
-
Bring a song or speech (or section of a song or speech) that you would like to work on. As time is limited, please keep it short (i.e. strictly no longer than 3 minutes - preferably shorter).
-
Singers may perform a cappella or with a backing track. If you use a backing track, please make sure it is played on a separate device behind you so that both you and the accompaniment can be heard clearly.
