Active Participant (Fully Booked)* >
In this relaxed, informal day-long vocal workshop at London's iconic 606 Club you will learn how to make a jazz standard your own while exploring vocal craft, style and stagecraft in a supportive setting. Expert coaching and feedback will be offered by award-winning jazz singer Claire Martin OBE and her vocal coach Stefan Holmström.
The day starts with a trip to The Voice Gym where we will use Estill Voice Training to warm up the voice before we explore different vocal colours and ways to play with structure and form in jazz standards.
Ten active participants will have the opportunity to perform a selected song on stage accompanied by Jim Watson, one of the most in-demand jazz pianists on the UK jazz scene who has worked with artists including Sting, Cat Stevens, Paloma Faith and New York Voices.

About Estill Voice Training
Estill Voice Training (EVT) is a scientific, evidence-based system for vocal development. It is a life-changing approach that can help you become a stronger and more emotional performer by giving you effective tools to improve your craft. With EVT, simple everyday sounds are used to identify structures in the larynx and in the vocal tract (i.e. throat, mouth and nose). These are then trained in detail to give conscious, predictable and reliable control of your voice.
About the venue
The 606 Club has been one of the busiest jazz clubs in Europe since 1976, featuring jazz, soul, groove, Latin, R&B, funk, gospel, blues and groove artists with live music 7 nights a week plus Sunday lunches.
